Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to represent Midland Care professionally in community outreach activities and help community healthcare providers access care for their clients. The incumbent is responsible for successful relationship building with current and potential healthcare provider partners. The incumbent is part of a sales team, responsible for marketing Midland Care’s clinical services programs, getting referrals for the programs, and communicating the mission. The Clinical Liaison II is responsible for a larger program(s) which involves more referrals and admissions which makes the job faster paced.

Key Responsibilities

People

  • Articulates clearly and consistently referral sources, contracting providers and consumers the mission, the philosophy and key elements of all of the Midland Care clinical services programs.
  • Coordinates the planning and promotion of successful public relations activities, events and health fairs, attending on behalf of Midland Care. 
  • Collaborates with the Education Department to promote community education offerings.
  • Partners with supervisor to develop strategic marketing activities. 
  • Responds in a timely manner to requests for information.
  • Stocks brochures in the community.
  • Delivers clinical notes.
  • Effectively communicates all aspects of Midland programs to the community and assists with admission paperwork.
  • Monitors progress in meeting goals and makes adjustments as needed to reach goals.
  • Develops advanced goals when initial goals are met.

Service

  • Corresponds with referral sources, vendors, commercial organizations and professional foundations to identify appropriate partnerships and coordinate speaking engagements. 
  • Responsible for adhering to department policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the organization’s community outreach efforts directed at educating consumers and healthcare providers. 
  • Meets with patients prior to discharge from an acute care facility to answer questions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. · Assists in other areas of the Midland organization as may be needed.
  • Quality
  • Assures accurate information is available for client needs, partnerships and community education activities.
  • Represents and participates in appropriate organization committees and activities. 
  • Assists supervisor and other staff members regarding the development and revision of the organization’s promotional materials, brochures and informational flyers.
  • Follows up with providers when patients are hospitalized. 
  • Ensures that all confidential and/or HIPAA information is kept safe and secure and is only provided to those who meet criteria to receive the information and that the information is provided in a safe and secure manner.

Growth 

  • Completes annual mandatory education requirements.
  • Identifies opportunities for new program development and growth. 
  • Meets with providers to develop clinical programs that meet the needs of the referral source
  • Seeks and utilizes opportunities for professional growth and encourages performance feedback.
  • Works with Contract Specialist to identify educational needs and provide training for contracting providers. 
  • Maintains professional boundaries.
  • Utilizes evolving technology as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal/human relations skills.

  • At least 3 years of healthcare marketing and sales experience, including “cold-calling”, and being comfortable asking for a referral.

  • Excellent verbal (presentations/speaking in front of groups) and written communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Prior community outreach experience.

  • Must possess a valid Kansas or Missouri Driver’s License, enforce automobile liability insurance and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization’s insurability standard as defined by Midland policy.

  • Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position. program.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university program.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Office setting combined with field/outreach work (visits to hospitals, senior living, participant homes).

  • Occasional lifting, assisting participants during home visits, movement between facilities.

  • Regular travel within service territory; some evening or off-hour community events may be required.
