This position is responsible for conceptualizing, developing and implementing the Union's internal and external communication needs.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Each day is different in the UNAC/UHCP Communications department-and that's just the way we like it. Duties can include any of the following.
• Write, design and produce flyers, email blasts, website posts, mailers and other member communications in conjunction with the representation, organizing, political, member engagement and community benefit work of the Union.
• Design social media, email and web graphics.
• Film and edit high-quality videos featuring health care professionals.
• Tell the union's story via social media, including collaborating with co-workers to build social media campaigns around key issues.
• Responsible for online advocacy campaigns.
• Prepare UNAC/UHCP members and potential members to be interviewed by the media.
• Write and disseminate press releases as part of a media plan.
• Build relationships with online and offline media, pitch reporters and author op-eds.
• Research, write and message news of the Union.
• Attends biennial UNAC/UHCP convention.
• Attends UNAC/UHCP staff meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
DIRECTIONS AND DECISION MAKING
This position reports to, and works under the direction of, the Communications Director and/or UNAC/UHCP Officers. Keeps Communications Director regularly apprised of member communications developments.
