Job Description

Healthcare Leadership Alumni and Communications Specialist

Join the Healthcare Leadership Collaborative (HLC) at the BYU Marriott School of Business and play a pivotal role in connecting our vibrant healthcare leadership community. This dynamic position focuses on fostering lasting relationships between current students, accomplished alumni, and industry leaders in healthcare. You'll drive comprehensive outreach strategies, coordinate high-impact events, and build the digital presence that extends the BYU Healthcare Leadership experience beyond graduation. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of healthcare leadership while strengthening one of the most influential healthcare networks in the industry.

What you’ll do in this position:

  • Student and Alumni outreach and communications
    • Develop and implement comprehensive, long-term communication strategies that connect students and alumni across the healthcare industry
    • Oversee Healthcare Leadership websites, newsletters, and digital publications to showcase program excellence
  • Host, collaborate on, and develop alumni engagement and events
  • Alumni database and contact management
  • Liaison to advisory boards, Marriott school communications team, and university-wide alumni and communications committees
  • Student supervision and mentorship
  • Fundraising support

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • Bachelor's degree and/or relevant work experience in program management, database management, and marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professional integrity and excellent judgment in all interactions
  • Sensitivity and discretion with confidential records and information
  • Strategic planning and execution skills with ability to implement long-term initiatives
  • Exceptional public relations, etiquette, and networking skills
  • High degree of comfort with technology and interest in applying innovative technology solutions
  • Ability to work independently while effectively directing and mentoring others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences including alumni, advisory board members, and key stakeholders

Preferred

  • Experience working with social media platforms and alumni engagement
  • Background in BYU alumni relations or university advancement
  • Experience in healthcare industry communications or marketing
  • Experience with alumni database management systems and CRM platforms
  • Background in healthcare industry networking and professional associations
  • Proven track record in event planning and execution
  • Social media marketing and digital content creation experience
  • Fundraising and donor relations experience
  • Understanding of university advancement and alumni relations best practices

Pay Grade: 52

Typical Starting Pay: $30.50 to $39.75 an hour
