Leidos QTC Health Services seeks a Internal Communications Specialist to join our Communications team. The Internal Communications Specialist supports the execution of internal communications initiatives aligned to enterprise priorities and transformation efforts. Reporting to the Internal & Program Communications Manager, this role is responsible for developing internal content, managing communication channels, and supporting employee engagement initiatives to ensure clear, timely, and consistent messaging across the organization. This position focuses on disciplined execution of internal communications plans and day-to-day channel ownership.

Preferred work location is Leidos Global HQ in Reston, VA or San Antonio, TX

 

Key Responsibilities

Internal Communications Execution

  • Develop and publish internal communications content aligned to enterprise priorities.
  • Manage day-to-day intranet content updates, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support enterprise announcements, leadership updates, and workforce communications.
  • Draft employee-facing communications in partnership with the Senior Manager, Internal & Program Communications.
  • Own and manage internal editorial calendar in coordination with functional stakeholders.
  • Serve as primary intake point for internal communication requests and assess appropriate channel placement.
  • Edit and refine content from business partners to ensure clarity, tone, and alignment.
  • Coordinate execution of enterprise communications cascades across internal channels in alignment with leadership  direction.
  • Ensure internal communications adhere to brand voice and messaging standards.
  • Coordinate with External Communications to align workforce communications with broader organizational messaging.
  • Prepare periodic internal communications performance summaries for leadership.
  • Support employee-facing communications and campaigns associated with branded merchandise, recognition programs, and volunteer initiatives.
  • Maintain structured archive of internal communications materials, templates, and tools to ensure institutional knowledge and efficient reuse.

Channel & Engagement Support

  • Execute internal communications across a multi-channel environment (intranet, mobile, email, and emerging platforms) to ensure consistent message delivery.
  • Monitor engagement metrics and recommend adjustments to improve clarity and reach.
  • Execute employee engagement campaigns, recognition communications, and internal storytelling initiatives.
  • Support internal events, town halls, and leadership sessions through communications planning and materials.

Change & Workforce Communications Support

  • Assist in execution of structured change communications plans.
  • Develop FAQs, supporting materials, and workforce updates tied to transformation initiatives.
  • Coordinate with HR Communications Specialist to ensure aligned workforce messaging.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in internal or corporate communications.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to tone and clarity.
  • Experience managing internal communications channels and content workflows.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience collaborating across functions and stakeholder groups.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting internal change initiatives.
  • Experience in healthcare, federal contracting, or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with communications analytics and intranet platforms.

This role may fall under the Service Contract Act (SCA), a federal law which provides for a U.S. Department of Labor-prescribed minimum prevailing rate of pay and certain benefit levels.
