We are seeking an experienced Principal Field Clinical Specialist (FCS). Primary responsibilities include exceptional management of pre‑ and post‑market Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) clinical trial execution within an assigned territory. • Train physicians, support staff, and research personnel on investigational devices, clinical trial procedural techniques, and study protocols.
• Maintain expertise in the Clinical Investigation Protocol (CIP) to support appropriate subject selection for TAVI clinical trials.
• Provide procedural guidance to physicians during investigational TAVI procedures or serve as back‑up to commercial clinical support when needed.
• Mentor and train less‑experienced FCSs within the region or nationally.

• Communicate clinical evidence and strategy confidently to physicians and research partners.
• Act as a liaison between Abbott and the medical community, sharing insights with product planning, engineering, marketing, and education teams.
• Support engineering on next‑generation TAVI platform development by contributing clinical expertise to design iterations and performing in‑vitro or in‑vivo evaluations.
• Develop clinical best practices for next‑generation TAVI platforms and provide case support across all phases of development—from First-in-Human to Early Feasibility and IDE studies.
• Engage with clinical sites to promote patient diversity and identify barriers to enrolling a representative population.
• Identify opportunities to establish best practices within the organization.
• Maintain required certifications relevant to assigned product areas.
• Comply with FDA regulations, regulatory requirements, company policies, SOPs, and assigned processes. Maintain positive, cooperative communication with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include evening or weekend calls for time‑sensitive case reviews or customer needs.
• Role will evolve as the organization scales, offering opportunities for professional growth.
• Assist in managing FCS personnel.
This position works closely with Global Clinical Affairs (GCA)—including the Medical Director and Program Management—Global Clinical Organization (GCO) field personnel, and Abbott’s Commercial TAVI team.
