Job Description

As the Communications Specialist for Supply Chain Operations within US Pharmaceutical Distribution (USPD/NAPS), you will execute communications for McKesson’s largest business unit.

Your responsibilities include creating and supporting communication strategies and messaging to inform key internal and external stakeholders about initiatives, programs, and technology that improve the customer and employee experience. You will help ensure consistent and timely communication across the business and customer segments within NAPS, leveraging multiple channels including email, online and digital formats, video, print, meetings, and events.

This role requires a strong communicator who is comfortable working across teams, collaborating with stakeholders at different levels, and translating complex or evolving information into clear, actionable messaging.

Compensation: Target budget for this role is between $85,000 and $88,000 per year along with a 5% bonus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and support communication strategies and plans for initiatives and projects aligned to business objectives, including messaging, timelines, and deliverables
  • Synthesize complex and sometimes evolving information to create clear, relevant messaging for a variety of audiences
  • Create and deliver communications across multiple platforms including email, presentations, digital formats, video, and internal channels
  • Manage multiple communication workstreams simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment across stakeholders
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather information, align messaging, and ensure communications meet business needs
  • Collaborate with internal partners and external vendors to develop and execute communication deliverables
  • Contribute to the development of communication materials that are visually engaging and aligned with brand standards
  • Support planning and coordination of communication initiatives, including managing timelines, tracking deliverables, and adapting to changing priorities
  • Facilitate communication processes and provide guidance to internal teams to strengthen messaging and delivery
  • Stay informed on company priorities, supply chain operations initiatives, and relevant business updates to ensure communications remain accurate and timely
  • Assist the SCO Communication and Marketing team with ad hoc communication needs and high-priority initiatives as required

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Degree in business, communications, marketing, journalism or related field, or equivalent, and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills

  • Ability to synthesize detailed or complex information into clear, concise communication for varied audiences
  • Experience with communication tools such as Microsoft Office/365, including strong proficiency in PowerPoint and digital collaboration tools
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and interact comfortably with stakeholders at different levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with appropriate direction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex topics into understandable messaging
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to ask thoughtful questions and contribute to solutions
  • Attention to detail with solid project coordination and time management abilities
  • Copywriting experience across multiple communication formats (e.g., email, presentations, digital content)

Additional Skills

  • Previous experience in supply chain, distribution, or healthcare communications is preferred
  • Experience communicating with non-wired associates is a plus
  • Exposure to video content creation or working with multimedia communications is a plus
  • Experience with SharePoint or similar internal content platforms is a plus
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Comfort collaborating with external vendors or agency partners is a plus

Working Conditions

We offer a hybrid work schedule, based in our Fort Worth, TX office.

The majority of our “nonessential onsite” employees will have the flexibility to predominantly work from home. With this increased flexibility around in-office presence, we want to maximize our time together and leverage the office as a destination. We will come to the office to meet intentionally for important events and activities, like onboarding and training, quarterly performance check-ins, staff meetings and team building, as well as brainstorming and strategy sessions.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
