What You Will Do Leads the development and implementation of program goals and operations for the chest pain program.
Works collaboratively with the Medical Director for the chest pain program to oversee the program’s procedures, protocols, and policies.
Provides oversight of regulatory requirements for Chest Pain Accreditation.
Provides education to physician, nursing, ancillary, support, and EMS staff regarding care of chest pain patients.
Performs data abstraction to meet accreditation requirements.
Analyzes abstracted data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to implement process improvement action plans and goals.
Facilitates community outreach programs for chest pain.
Chairs the chest pain committee in collaboration with Medical Leadership.
Oversees the care of chest pain patients in collaboration with other members of the health care team to meet all care standards and regulatory requirements. Provides feedback to team members regarding protocol compliance.
Respond to chest pain alerts as permitted to provide support to staff.
Provides education and competencies related to the care of chest pain patients to physicians, nursing staff, ancillary staff, support staff, and EMS.
Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
(BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required) and
Master's Degree (Preferred)
Work Experience
3+ years of clinical nursing experience (Required) and
Previous experience with ACC Chest Pain Accreditation standards and data collection (Preferred) and
Staff education and training experience (Preferred)
Cardiac, Emergency Services or ICU experince is strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal (Required proficiency)
Data abstraction and analytics experience (Preferred proficiency)
Proven ability to lead teams through program development and implementation as well as through identification and implementation of opportunities for improvement (Required proficiency)
Formal process improvement training (Preferred proficiency)
Computer skills in all office applications with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Required proficiency)
Ability to function independently with minimal supervision and meet goals and deadlines (Required proficiency)
Program development and management (Preferred proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire) and
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (Required) or obtained within orientation
