Job Summary
- Seeking a Usability & Human Factors Engineer (UHFE) to apply human factors principles, cognitive science, ergonomics, and usability methodologies to ensure systems, products, and interfaces are safe, effective, efficient, and aligned with user needs
- The UHFE will support system design, evaluation, validation, and optimization across the lifecycle, ensuring human-system integration (HSI) requirements are addressed
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers, managers, and system engineers to ensure intelligence products remain modern, cutting-edge, and highly usable
- Research and document user workflows
- Design intuitive front-end systems
- Create mockups
- Engages with users for feedback
- Work closely with multiple development teams to enhance analyst tools
Required Qualifications
- Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
- 5 years' experience with a Bachelorβs in Computer Science (or related field)
- Experience conducting user research through surveys, focus groups, and usability testing to gather and analyze user feedback
- Ability to translate user requirements (personas, workflows, task flows, and user scenarios) into wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and detailed interface design specifications
- Experience collaborating closely with application developers, product designers, and process engineers to deliver intuitive, user-centered solutions
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe XD, PenPot, or similar platforms
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degrees and certifications related to Human Factors Engineering or Human Centered Computing are a plus
Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidateβs experience and qualifications.
