Relevant Responsibilities & Accomplishments
Obtained and maintained accurate patient demographic, insurance, and contact information.
Verified insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments and dates of service.
Collected patient signatures and completed all required registration documentation.
Scheduled, confirmed, rescheduled, and tracked appointments while ensuring continuity of care.
Answered high volumes of incoming and outgoing phone calls professionally and courteously.
Processed referrals and authorizations in a timely manner to support patient care.
Maintained electronic medical records, scanned documents, monitored fax servers, and accurately assigned documents to patient charts.
Coordinated care and communicated effectively with patients, families, providers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Notified clinical staff of schedule changes and collaborated to optimize provider schedules.
Assisted with onboarding and training staff on scheduling processes and workflow updates.
Maintained organized workspaces and supported office operations to ensure efficiency and quality patient care.
Worked collaboratively with team members to achieve departmental goals and performance metrics.
Adapted quickly in high-volume, fast-paced healthcare settings while maintaining accuracy and exceptional customer service.
Ensured compliance with organizational policies, quality standards, HIPAA regulations, and OSHA requirements.
Participated in educational programs, competency training, and process improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
1+ years of healthcare or customer service-related experience
Access to reliable transportation and a valid U.S. driver's license
Strong typing, data entry, and computer navigation skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
travel between locations as needed to provide staffing coverage and support operational needs
Preferred Qualifications
Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of ophthalmology and optometry workflows, scheduling requirements, and patient care coordination
Experience performing patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, referral processing, co-pay collection, and medical record maintenance
Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment, accountability, and professionalism
Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients, providers, multidisciplinary teams, and external partners
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $18 to $32 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
