Position Summary

The Program Coordinator plays an important role in creating a welcoming and engaging experience for guests by supporting daily programming, home operations, volunteer engagement, and community events. This position works closely with the Program Director, Assistant Program Director, volunteers, and interns to ensure programs run smoothly and guests feel supported.

This is a part time position with up to 29 hours per week. Availability required M-F from 3-8pm and some weekends. Please note Pride month (June) is a time off blackout period.

The starting pay for this role is $18 per hour. Benefits include 401k with up to 4% match and paid sick time.

Responsibilities

Support Youth and Family Programs

Assist with planning, coordinating, and facilitating programs and activities for LGBTQ+ youth, young adults, and families.

Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all guests.

Support program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.

Uphold organizational policies, community guidelines, and safety standards.

Build Relationships and Collaborate

Work closely with staff, volunteers, interns, and community partners to support program goals.

Communicate effectively and contribute to a positive team culture.

Participate in regular feedback, problem-solving, and collaboration efforts.

Support Volunteers and Interns

Assist with onboarding, training, and supporting volunteers and interns.

Provide guidance during programming and model positive guest engagement.

Help foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and service.

Coordinate Supplies and Home Operations

Maintain inventory of program materials, snacks, and household supplies.

Help ensure the home remains clean, organized, safe, and welcoming.

Report maintenance needs and assist with day-to-day operational tasks.

Support Community Engagement

Assist with community events, outreach efforts, and partnership activities.

Represent Encircle professionally at community functions when needed.

Help strengthen awareness and engagement within the local community.

Administrative Support

Maintain accurate records, reports, calendars, and program documentation.

Assist with event preparation, inventory tracking, and other operational projects.

Support the overall needs of the home and team as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Education, or a related field preferred.

Experience working with youth, young adults, families, volunteers, or community programs.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.

Availability to work weekday afternoons and evenings.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

Ability to create welcoming and inclusive environments

Excellent organization and attention to detail

Effective communication and teamwork

Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

Emotional maturity and professionalism

Preferred

Experience working with LGBTQ+ youth, young adults, and families.

Experience in nonprofit, education, community engagement, or youth development settings.

Familiarity with trauma-informed approaches and positive youth development practices.

Experience coordinating events, programs, or volunteer activities.
